Who We Are
Farovane is run by [Legal entity name], [Registered business address] ("Farovane", "we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described here. For anything about this policy or your data, email[email protected].
What We Collect
Your account. Your name, email address and password. We store the password only as a one way bcrypt hash, so nobody at Farovane can read it.
Billing. Polar handles checkout and payment. We receive your Polar customer and subscription IDs, your plan, its status and its renewal or cancellation date. We never receive your card number.
What you add to Farovane. The sites, keywords, competitors, site briefs, articles, content plans and settings you create, and the results of the checks we run for them: rankings, backlinks, technical audits, crawls of your site, page snapshots and AI visibility results.
Services you connect. If you connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics, we store a read only access token and the property you picked, and import search and traffic figures for that property. If you connect WordPress or Payload CMS, we store the application password or API key you enter so we can publish when you ask us to. These credentials are never sent back to your browser after you save them.
Information about other people's websites. To show competitors and outreach prospects, we collect public information about other sites, including business contact names and email addresses for outreach prospects. Some of these addresses are best guesses based on common patterns (for example editor@ a domain). Farovane does not currently send email to prospects; you decide whether and how to contact them.
Assistant messages. We process what you type into the Assistant to answer it and to carry out the actions you ask for. We don't keep a conversation history on our servers.
Technical data. Our servers log requests, including your IP address, the address requested, the time and your browser's user agent. We use these logs to keep the service running and secure.
How We Use It
- To run your account and the features you use, including the scheduled checks for your sites.
- To generate drafts, plans and suggestions when you ask for them.
- To bill you through Polar and apply your plan's limits.
- To keep Farovane secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To reply when you contact us, and to tell you about important changes to the service or these documents.
We don't sell personal data, share it for advertising, or use your content to train AI models. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on performing our contract with you (running the service), our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention and improving Farovane), your consent where we ask for it (connecting Google), and legal obligations (tax and accounting records).
AI Features
Article drafts and reviews, content plans, outreach pitches, AI visibility checks, Assistant replies and Ad Studio research are written by DeepSeek's AI models. When you use one of these features, we send DeepSeek the text that feature needs, as listed under Service Providers. AI output can be wrong. Farovane shows it to you as a suggestion and never publishes it or changes your site unless you choose to.
Google User Data
When you connect Google, Farovane asks for read only access to Search Console (webmasters.readonly) and Google Analytics (analytics.readonly). We use this data only to show your search and traffic performance in Farovane, to find keyword and content opportunities for your site, and, when you run Ad Studio research, to send your top search queries to DeepSeek so it can describe what your audience looks for. We don't use Google data for advertising, don't sell it, and don't let people read it except with your permission, for security, or where the law requires.
Farovane's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to theGoogle API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can disconnect Search Console or Analytics in Farovane's Settings at any time, which deletes the stored access token. You can also remove Farovane's access from yourGoogle Account permissions.

We share data only with the providers below, and only what each one needs to do its job for us.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or to a buyer if Farovane is sold or merged, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data.
Cookies and Tracking
Neither farovane.com nor the Farovane app uses cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. To keep you signed in, the app saves your session (a sign-in token with your name and email) in your browser's local storage, along with the site you last selected and your light or dark theme. It stays on your device until you log out, which removes the session. Both the site and the app load their fonts from Google Fonts and Fontshare, so those services receive your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
Where Data Is Processed
Farovane is hosted with [Hosting provider and region]. Several of our providers process data in other countries, including the United States, and DeepSeek processes data in China. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers.
How Long We Keep Data
- Account and site data: for as long as your account is open.
- Deleting a site in Farovane deletes its keywords, history, articles and everything else stored for it.
- Closing your account: email us and we delete your account and its data within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax and accounting.
- Server logs: kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
Your Choices and Rights
You can see and change most of your data directly in Farovane. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop or limit how we use it. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state privacy laws such as California's. Email[email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Security
Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes, connected credentials are never returned to the browser, and the service is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
Farovane is a business tool and is not meant for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
When this policy changes we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
